For some reason I think these are so gross but I'm so intrigued at the same
time. When you stare at them their orange bodies come slithering in and
out. I always feel bad for them so I toss them back in the water.
Their proper name is Pelagic goose barnacle. They live on floating wood,
sea beans and other flotsam adrift on the open ocean. They reach the beach
when their ride does. .
