I encountered this huge male in the Indian Ocean. A true giant, when in
presence of such an animal you are humbled and you can only imagine his
daily life and the tentacles marks on his forehead gives you a glimpse of
what happens one or two kilometers below the surface....By combining an
acoustic measure if his click's rebound and some basic trygonometry we
could determine his size between 21 and 23m. Before industrial hunting it
was a common size for a male sperm whale but nowadays they hardly get to
18m. Having freedived with a lot of sperm whales across the world's oceans
I can say I had never seen one that approached his lenght and girth."
