Pyrus communis 'Humbug' (syn. 'Pysanka') This very unusual green, yellow
and pink striped pear offers something very special for the garden. In its
native country (the Ukraine) it is known as the 'Easter Pear' as it is
traditionally stored through winter and paraded as a table decoration
before eating at Easter time to celebrate the onset of spring. The fruits
can be used for dessert and culinary purposes. It has a sweet and juicy
texture despite its thick skin. The tree has good disease resistance and
even the young shoots appear striped during the winter. Pollination: Group
