This Southern Right Whale just dwarfs the human in size!
Reaching up to 45 feet long, and over 70 tonnes in weight, the Southern
Right Whale species has seen a recovery in recent years, thanks to
protection laws being enacted!
Still, they do suffer casualties from commercial fishing nets and boat
strikes. Work is being done to rectify this, including the creation of new
fishing lines that break when a whale is entangled.
