Saber tooth

How do we know so much about Smilodon (Saber tooth)? The saber tooth has
been extinct for roughly 10,000 years now. We know so much about them
because of the bones and fossils found in California in the La Brea Tar
Pits! This is a paleontologists dream come true. So many Smilodons have
been caught and preserved in this area.
Scientists have been able to study fully preserved skulls, their blade like
teeth, and a variety of other bones that help us to piece together how
large this animal could get! Many scientists believe they could be over
1,100 pounds!
